FOXBOROUGH- Josh Hodge Class of 2007 FRCS alum, during his time at FRCS, he published his first novel, Wild Christmas and started the literary magazine, Paragon! He later went on to publish a collection of short stories: Sharks Fairies and Crazy Captains. You can visit Josh’s author site at: www.joshhodge.com.
Josh used the Spanish that he learned at FRCS as the spring board to a career in education as well! Josh was recently in touch with Mrs. Droste as part of an alumni outreach project. Here are a few comments from Josh, reflecting on his time at FRCS:
“FRCS was a great learning environment for me that really let me be creative, take on leadership roles, and develop a strong work ethic. After graduating FRCS, I went on to further pursue my interest in language and earned a Bachelors in Spanish Education P-12 through Asbury University in Kentucky. I also spent some time studying at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. With my acquiredSpanish language skills, I've spent a lot of time in Latin America and have been on mission trips and various visits to that region. In 2011, after graduating college, I spent a year teaching ESL to inner city high school students in Houston, Texas. I now reside in Boyle County, Kentucky, where I teach elementary school Spanish and enjoy it. I've decided to hang my hat here in Kentucky and stay a while. I still write and have completed a second novel, which I hope to soon publish. I've also written many songs in Spanish to help teach my students. You can see the music videos at my Spanish website www.spanisherizo.com. (On his site, you can learn some Spanish from Ken and Barbie!) As I now find myself in front of the classroom, facilitating student success, I often think back and appreciate the time and efforts the teachers at FRCS invested in me. I've been impressed with FRCS, as it continues to grow and flourish. I am proud to be now one of its many graduates!”
