I think all the wonders of nature are designed with messages to draw us back to God, the creator. Through my writing I hope to help others learn to view the natural word as a place rich with meaning, and I wish to take you along on my many adventures! I have a goal of visiting every U.S. National Park and writing about the journey in a series of books. My first three volumes are complete: Canyonlands: My adventures in the National Parks and beautiful wild; Still, Calm, and Quiet: More adventures in the National Park and beautiful; and, coming soon, The Colors of My Sunset: My adventures and reflections in the National Parks and beautiful wild.
While on my National Park adventures, I have been inspired learning about Theodore Roosevelt and have become a self-made Roosevelt scholar, eventually compiling and publishing Theodore Roosevelt for the Holidays: Christmas and Thanksgiving with the Bull Moose, and Realizable Ideals and the Key to Success in Life. These books eventually opened the door for me to be a guest speaker at the annual Gathering of the Teddy Roosevelts: A Badlands Chautauqua in Medora, North Dakota, aside Theodore Roosevelt National Park. In the summer of 2024 I had the honor of being the coordinator for the event.
While working on my Theodore Roosevelt projects, I also has the incredible opportunity to write for Dolly Parton's Dollywood Theme Park in East Tennessee as a "Dollywood Insider". I attended media events and wrote feature pieces for their Insiders blog, with tips and behind the scenes looks into the park and its many attractions.
One of my earliest and personally impactful writing accomplishments was when I was a homeschool student in the second grade, and I wrote a short story titled Sam's Hair which won a contest with the local PBS station, resulting in recording and airing a segment for PBS's Reading Rainbow. During high school, my short story Pixie Chase was published on Scholastic's website, these accomplishments spurred me onward to publish my first novel, Wild Christmas, while a junior.
Fiction was my passion for a long while, and in 2015, after many years of careful contemplation and writing, I published my fiction masterpiece, the suspense mystery novel, Dakota Broken. Since then I've been not only writing but publishing my own work, designing every fine detail of the publications. I have had some other writing endeavors, but these are just some of the highlights.
Currently I live in central Kentucky where I have been an elementary Spanish teacher for twelve years. I spend my summers adventuring and working at the historic Polebridge Mercantile and Bakery at Glacier National Park in Montana,
I look forward to partnering with other writers and artists, and hope you take time to enjoy one of my many books!
